Keterlibatan program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan ini merupakan wujud kerjasama dan dukungan kepada lembaga perpustakaan UIN Sumatera Utara yang tidak hanya mengikut sertakan mahasiswa tetapi juga para dosen Ilmu Perpustakaan. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan mahasiswa Ilmu perpustakaan dapat memahami dan menghayati profesi pustakawan yang tidak hanya semata-mata memberikan layanan informasi kepada masyarakat akademik, tetapi juga mengembangkan pengetahuan dan skill dalam melakukan program-program <i>outreach<\/i> dan promosi.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mahasiswa Ilmu Perpustakaan yang secara kelembagaan dikordinir oleh Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan, menjadi motor penggerak pelaksanaan kegiatan Library Festival tahun 2022 ini yang mengusung tema <b><i>Be Literate, Save Our Generation<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 Tema ini diambil dalam rangka mendukung program Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB) tentang capaian <i><b>Sustainable Development Goals<\/b><\/i> (SDG) tahun 2030.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kegiatan yang diselenggarakan selama dua hari ini, yaitu tanggal 26 dan 27 Oktober 2022,\u00a0 digagas secara bersama oleh mahasiswa, dosen Ilmu Perpustakaan bersama dengan pimpinan dan pengelola perpustakaan. Atas kerja keras mahasiswa ilmu Perpustakaan, kegiatan ini mendapatkan sponsor dari beberapa lembaga dan unit-unit UMKM serta bisnis. Adapun lomba-lomba yang dilaksanakan meliputi lomba videografi, Mobil Legend, dan karya tulis ilmiah. Pada kegiatan Library Festival 2022 ini juga diselenggarakan seminar dengan narasumber <b>Nazaruddin Musa, MLIS., Ph.D<\/b>. dari UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh dan berlaku sebagai moderator adalah <b>Franindya Purwaningtyas, MA<\/b>., Sekretaris Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan. Pada hari kedua, diselenggarakan Talkshow dengan narasumber <b>Musa Rajekhsyah, M.Hum.,\u00a0<\/b>Wakil Gubernur Sumatera Utara, yang dimoderatori oleh <b>Abdi Mubarak Syam, M.Hum<\/b>., dosen program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan. Sementara itu dosen-dosen program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan lainnya berperan sebagai juri Lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah yaitu <b>Dra. Retno Sayekti, MLIS. <\/b>dan<b> Dr. Abdul Karim, MA, <\/b>Ketua Program Studi, dan lomba videografi yaitu <b>Muslih Faturrahman, MA<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Pada kegiatan tersebut mahasiswa Ilmu Perpustakaan mempersembahkan tarian Melayu untuk menyambut para tamu undangan pada saat pembukaan hari
